Richard Heaton-Watson (BA PGCE FRGS)

Educated at Harrow, Richard Heaton-Watson read Geography and Geology at Queen’s University, Belfast and has a teaching qualification from Cambridge. He has wide educational experience, teaching in a prep school, comprehensive school, London independent college and a leading independent boarding school where he was a Head of Department, Housemaster and Director of Public Relations and Marketing. He has also worked in the agricultural industry, as well as the commercial banking sector. Before joining Gabbitas he was the Chief Executive of a prestigious London City Charity with real estate, almshouse and educational interests.

Anne Waterman (Dip CG)

Anne has nearly twenty years’ experience as a careers adviser in the maintained, independent, further and higher education sectors. She has particular expertise in all aspects of higher education, including Oxbridge entry. A member of the British Psychological Society she is trained to administer psychometric tests and has wide experience in the use of other guidance tools. Anne has two grown up children.

Alice Murrie (BA Hons)

Alice is responsible for advising clients on all of the services offered by the Education Advisory Team, with particular responsibility for liasing with the Higher Education and Careers Consultants. Educated at Tonbridge Grammar School for Girls, Alice recently graduated from the University of Nottingham with a degree in French. Through her degree Alice was able to spend a year teaching in Paris and then studying in the south of France. Being a recent graduate, Alice has good knowledge on the higher educational system. As well as providing administrative support to the department, Alice regularly carries out research on behalf of the consultants into education and training options for clients.

Educated at St Mary’s, Cambridge and St Mary’s, Ascot, Catherine went on to run Boxford House Language School, originally founded by her mother, The Lady Hilda Swan. Catherine joined Gabbitas in 2002. She has three children, all at boarding schools, and has been guardian to several overseas students at school in the UK. With a wide-ranging knowledge of boarding education and understanding of the needs of students coming from overseas Catherine offers a wealth of sound advice and information to parents looking for the right school.
